I loved Feltre and its Italian Language School so much when I first visited in 2008, I have returned each year since. Despite being ‘off the tourist trail’, it has a fascinating ‘centro storico’, three museums and beautiful churches which provide free guided tours each Sunday. But, for me, I return mainly because of its uniquely friendly atmosphere and, not being a ‘tourist’ town, Feltre is a very safe holiday destination. It does have a Tourist Information Office. They advised me on how to make the lovely walk to the nearby monastery of San Vittore e Santa Corona. After drinking the lovely prosecco, I needed that spectacular walk! It is easy to go by train to Venice-some fellow students and I went there on a Saturday day trip. I loved attending the school and my Italian did improve! After the morning classes, there are optional guided tours in the afternoons which add greatly to your experience. The fact that so many of the students are ‘returnees’ is proof of the unique charm of beautiful Feltre!
